EA Sports Expanding Research Community - Apply Here
Saturday, 21 January, 2006 by Lior
EA sent us the following email today. If you're interested in getting involved with their research community read below:
"EA SPORTS are once again in the process of expanding their football data and reference research efforts. They are looking for knowledgeable football experts who have the time and dedication needed to edit and collect data/reference material related to their favourite club.
Do you feel you know more about your team than your club's Manager? Could you tell your mates how many games your centre back played last season and which foot he prefers to hit the ball with? Are you constantly keeping track of the transfers and youth prospects at your club? If you fit this description then please keep reading.
Not only do you have to have a football brain, but you must have an interest in data editing. Experience with editing data for football video games will go a long way to ensuring you understand the data we need collected.
Now, if you're still reading and are interested in this project, please take the time to fill out the online registration form.
EA SPORTS will be reading all applications and getting in contact with the people we feel best suit the projects on offer."
As the email says you can complete the registration form here. If you have ever wanted to contribute to FIFA this is your chance.

Only posting so that someone does it and we can see Sydney in FIFA! Abuse away! I can take it
Apply here!!!:
Being the lazy crackpot that I am, I won't/arn't capable of doing anything like that but I truely think someone should seriously think about applying!
It suprisingly has 'Australian Hyundai A-League' as an option for prefferred league, and I'm sure if someone chose that as their preferance, they would definatley get it!HERE! (http://159.153.197.145/TalentScoutRegistration/Registration/Register.aspx)

Liam, you are a champion.
You can get all the stats you need off all the websites for stats etc. You've got it made! :) If you get money out of it, thats great! Hope all goes well, PM me if you do end up doing anything, I am interested in seeing what happens.
C'mon others! Give it a go! Maybe even help out other teams with their stats, so FIFA has good stats on the whole A-League! ;)

They should have the whole A-League competition on there
Marteh
January 22nd, 2006, 10:09 PM
They most certainly might have it BUT Because they may not know much about the league, they might only have say dark blue jerseys etc. With no logos or anything and just call it the Australian League... UNLESS YOU APPLY GOD DAMMIT!

I applied, but in the section where you write why your qualified I just started crapping on about how good the A-league is and how good it would be if it was in fifa 07

Yeah, this was done by some researcher for FM. IMO, they overrrated the potential of many players and the finances were overrated too.

They are also putting in teams stadiums, maybe they will ask for a picture of a supporters banner, as in Fifa games you can see banners for teams supporters. That would be cool

In the last FIFA game I played (05), every League on there had at least 12 teams. That may not be EA regulations because there probably aren't any others Leagues in the World under 12 teams.
But I would have thought they'd have at best 1 or 2 teams in the "other Teams" section as a trial, hopefully that'd be Sydney and Melbourne.

If they really wanted to be accurate they wouldn't fill Stadiums like the Delle Alpi for every (any?) match.

Just click on this link and it tells you what to do:
Talent Scout (http://159.153.197.145/TalentScoutRegistration/Registration/Register.aspx)
I don't think I'll do it, too complex and I don't know enough about the game.

Hey I got an email today from EA regarding this reviewer job:
"Following the review of your initial application we are excited to inform you that you have been granted access to the second step in our selection process.
The second step in the selection process involves you filling out a more detailed questionnaire, as well as you completing some direct player editing in our online application, so that we can access your qualifications and expertise for this project."
I'm at work at the moment but will have a look when I get home, should be interesting. I pretty much only said I was interested in doing the A-League, hopefully that bodes well for us being in the game. Did anyone else get an email?

Well you end up grading about 20 players from the teams you said you would cover. It took me about an hour to do one player properly so I just thought bugger it.

I reckon they'll only put in Sydney and Melbourne in the Rest of the World section.
How crappy would it be playing with an 8 team league? Almost as bad as real life.

Ah well we can only hope it gets through, there will be a decent demand for it. I wouldn't be surprised if the FFA had a word to EA to try and get it in.
