Outside that (really it was a nice assits and a good run, the center back was always behind the 8 ball) I cannot remember another blemish from him this season.

Well, he plays in the correct position to get noticed. Our defenders are ****e. Maybe he can get into the squad if he's lucky.

Gus plays a back 3. Neill, Moore are the first names ont he sheet.
Then you have Popovic/Vidmar/McKain/Kisnorbo etc. fighting for that last spot. Beuchamp might be an outsider to make that 3rd center back postion his own.
At the least should be playing for Australia (in the squad if not in the 11) in the Asian games.

For a big center back I reckon he has abit of toe.
Vidmar & Popovic are your other options...

Yes Beauchamp is definately one for the future. It will be interesting to see if Central Coast can hang on to him or maybe he will be playing in Europe next season.

When asked for a standout performer, Arnold praised Central Coast Mariners defender Michael Beauchamp, saying “Michael Beauchamp was outstanding tonight and has put himself right into calculations (for World Cup selection)”.

Beauchamp = Dead set champion. Showed his class all day today, and didn't really get the result that he deserved.

Beachamp was solid today. He surely has played himself ito WC contention now. He is as solid as a rock down back, is there really anyone in the NT that you would prefer?

Australia NT back 3 should be:
Moore - Neill - Beauchamp

Definitely!
I mean Guus Hiddink is certainly a tactical genious so he himself could surely see that Beauchamp is better than Popovic at least c'mon.

Massive step up from A-League to internationals, hopefully he gets a run in a friendly to see if he can cut it, although he did the job on Yorke when he was needed (rest of the CCM players were to scared to put a foot near him).

yeah true.
World Cup though would be a big ask, but if he can take care of Yorke like he did tonight, who knows. I wonder how he would go marking Adriano and the likes......

No worst than Popovic/Vidmar.
He's 24: big/strong/quick/smart/great tackle etc.
If he continues to inprove he could be a gem.

Popovic and Vidmar = years of experience in top(ish) leagues.
Beauchamp = star against poor opposition.
You have to have doubts over whether he can play against the best.

Japs/Croats/Brazil = fast
Pop/Vidmar = slow

* 442's best player in A-League
* being part of the World Cup Squad
* Bundesliga player.
But fuck, he made one mistake and all the sudden he is shit.
Try watching last years Grand Final, CCM vs MV or any CCM last season last year.

Some of you are complete clowns, the bloke is a class act down back, he makes one mistake, and you jump all over him like fucking vultures. Unbelieveable!
Some of the best players on the planet have scored own goals, why are you picking on him? Give it a rest you lot!
One moment of madness does NOT constitute writing him off as a player.

Top thread Rob.
I've always been a fan of his.
He is tearing it up in Germany. Nurnberg are doing well, he is getting constant game time in their pursuit for Europe. They have also made the German Cup Semi, I'd be good to see an Aussie win something abroad.
Should be a definate for the Asia Cup squad.

I watched the game last night and he was fookin solid. A little nervous against there best player but he put in a good performance and made some strong tackles. He is really growing at Nurnberg and this week he has the match of his life when he faces Frankfurt in the German Cup Semi-Final. Hope they make Europe.

A regular starter for Nurnberg speaks for itself. Id start him at the Asian Cup.

emerton-neill-beuchamp-chipperfield
seems like a healthy back four there. especially when you have wilkshire, spira and moore on the bench.
i'm really pleased for him that he's now playing regular football! real A-league success story. He definately has earned the right to start in a full strength aussie side!

Wilkshire plays at Right Wing Back for FC Twente. IMO is a direct replacement for Emerton.

Neil-Moore definately
Then it'll be a tough choice between Beauchamp and Kisnorbo for the 1st reserve CB.

would you choose a bundisliga player or a mid table championship player?
Yes, a championship player who will play EPL next season. For me it's 50:50. Kisnorbo has been the stand-out for Leicester and he is very consistent. Beauchamp is ony starting to play at the top level and at times is a little jittery.
So it's a tough choice, it's not Bundesliga Vs Championship.
