I played Corporate Games at Eastern Lions in 05 and it was terrible. Has it been re-surfaced?

March 10th, 2007, 11:07 PM
Did you play at home Bosto?
Lat time I drove past Yarraville's pitch looked terrible.
We were scheduled to play a friendley against Keilor Park today, but their ground isnt ship shape yet. Our resembles a weed patch. Common theme everywhere right now, except La Trobe of course. Probably the best surface Ive played on over the last 3-4 years.
Good result Bosto. Did Patty play? Is ND injured yet lol?
Yep at Yarraville's ground. Our pitch ws booked by cricket so we couldn't use it.
Their ground was green, but bumpy as fuck. Wasn't the worst ground I have played on in the last few years (Mill Park springs to mind).
As I mentioned in a previous post our pitch is a bit hit and miss at the moment. Fungus got in so they have reseeded a large part. But as LaTrobe has its own water source it is still very green. Will be carpet again soon :hat:
Great result for the club, especially since damir and Paul U were absent. I thought we might struggle for firepower today, but we got in behind them so many times.
Pat played really well, his confindence was up today, should have had two, but didn't get on the score sheet.
Our friend ND has come up with a new injury for this season. He has moved on from the back to the groin :violin:

I used to play for Sandy. Fuck I hated those trips out to Monbulk, Nunawading, Ringwood and other far-flung corners of the universe. It was worse before they regionalised it, though, fucking Corio, Geelong Rangers, Melton, Sunbury :smow:

Still strange to see Thomo playing a Prov 3 side. You also played Watsonia last pre-season, so its obviously part of your plan.

State & Provisional League seasons delayed
Tuesday 27 March 2007
As announced on Thursday, 22nd March, Football Federation Victoria (FFV) has further delayed the commencement of the competition season, and is now in Phase 3 of its Season Contingency.
As a result, all previously listed Round 1 fixtures for the Men’s State League and Men’s Provisional League have been rescheduled to the Queen’s Birthday holiday on Monday, June 11th. Subsequently, all fixtures scheduled for Sunday, June 10th, will be moved to Saturday, June 9th or a time and date that has the Federation’s approval.
FFV is confident the further one-week deferment of the league season start date will give councils and venue owners more time to prepare playing areas to a standard fit for play.
In the event it can be demonstrated by a Round 1 ‘home’ club that its main playing field is ready and fit for play on 14th April 2007, then FFV will consider returning that fixture to its original date. Clubs wishing to take up this option must do so by completing the attached Expression of Interest form, which must be received by FFV by no later than – 5:00pm – Monday 2nd April 2007.
All expressions must be accompanied with a formal letter of support by the appropriate council or venue owner, otherwise it will not be considered. FFV reserves the right to reject any application, if it is of the opinion the playing field is not fit for play.

Frankston United already existed. Was one of the teams that merged to form Franskton Strikers.
Now known as Peninsula Strikers.
Peninsula had reasonably good juniors, but only Bayside (Sunday) Premier League seniors. Strikers had bugger all juniors, but SL3 Seniors. Win-Win for both clubs.
'New' SL3 club will be playing out of Ballam Park as McLelland Drive is a shocker, having had new surface laid (and promptly screwed up) by (pro-AFL) Frankston council.
'Peninsula' Strikers played Westall in scratch match last weekend. Watched the 2's game. Won 4-1 with 4 x 14 year olds. Don't know how the 1sts went.
I have been led to believe they play Pines this weekend. Will most likely get flogged.
For the record, Peninsula Strikers v Endeavor United. Round 1 April 21.
Good mate and 'New' keeper at Endeavor played Bayside League 3 last year at Frankston Pines. Gonna give him heaps...

Agree there lefty. An extra coupl of weeks fitness is what I need. That being said, am still unsure if our club will even field a 3rds metro team this year.
OK for most of the guys as they could hack the pace of playing ressies, but for myself and one or two others, we really need 3rds to go ahead as there is no way I could get a game in reserves...

Hey LS11.
You forgot C. All of the above...
Anyway, long time no speak. Have managed to overcome being banned. Coming down to the centre of the universe any time soon? Should be an interesting season, with the Pines back where they belong. Gotta come to the Langy game (local derby).
Got to get down for "Peninsula" Strikers v Endeavor. Round 1 SL3. Quality stuff. We'll be there.
Have taken junior out of Pines, as the Juniors is a fucking disgrace. Taken him to Peninsula. Will still make plenty of Senior matches though. Look forward to catching up for a bevvy or two though the year...

Ressies: Monbulk 1-1 Rowville
Tough match that Rowville controlled for most of the first half but only able to score the one goal. The second half was a different story with a change of tactics and personnel for Monbulk. The boys from the hills were unlucky not to score an equaliser midway through the second half when an open goal was skied over the bar. Monbulk did pull one back though with only seconds to go with a smartly placed free kick that bounced in front of the keeper.
Firsts: Monbulk 5-0 Rowville.

Riversdale vs Noble Park
Provisional 1 South-East
Reserves: 1-0
Good game by our youthful reserves who dominated the game and could of easily won it by more. 3 points in the bag none the less.
Firsts: 1-2
A goal in the final two minutes of each half to Noble Park and a goal midway through the second half for Riversdale made for an exciting battle. Riversdale could and should feel that they were unlucky not to get a result.

first HOME game AWAY, good luck to all thirds
Ironically, our first AWAY game is now at HOME.
Switched fixtures means we are playing at home to Old Juvents instead of away.

***BREAKING NEWS***
Adam "Tunna" Tennenini will make his first start of the 2007 season when he turns out for Avondale Heights Reserves against La Trobe University tomorrow.
It will mark the veteran defenders return to competitve football after sustaining an ankle injury during pre-season.
"Tunna" was unavailble for comment regarding his return, however sources inside the Avondale camp revealed that La Trobes decision to use their smaller ground, and recent rainfall had influenced the decision.
Word has reached the La Trobe Lower Playing fields and it is rumoured that the home side's supporters are preparing a hostile reception for the former Brimbank SC player.
The match also marks the first time the two sides have met since 2005, when La Trobe secured promotion to State 3.
