Sydney FC secure two sponsors
July 12, 2006

SYDNEY FC has secured two new sponsors ahead of the A-League season, with both investing six-figure sums in the club.

GraysOnline Auctions and Business Print Australia have joined the A-League champion's list of sponsors, with Sydney chief executive Tim Parker describing the investments as significant.

"With seven weeks to go before the start of the A-League we are making significant steps forward in sponsorship, which is indicative of the continued spike in interest football is enjoying," Parker said.

"The deals represent valid reasons why businesses are starting to engage with us for sponsorship. On one hand the A-League was a great success last year ... (and) the World Cup also showed Australia, especially with our move into Asia, can be a player on the international football stage."

Central Coast also announced a sponsorship deal with real estate agent LJ Hooker today to run for at least one year, with the option of extending the partnership to three years.

The pre-season cup begins this weekend with the A-League season starting in late August.

A new major sponsor (probably shirt) should be announced soon too.

I'm sure you're all happy for us :D

Good stuff. The more money, the better chance the A-League has of surviving. Just don't spend it all at once.

6 figure sums

$100,000 each

Well done Sydney and the CC to, as the sponsors are keen and the A-League is becoming more viable

Hell we even have less "bitters" on here these days

And please, don't smother the shirt, back, front, arms and armpits with logos.

GaysOnline Auctions should be a massive hit with the Cove.

MRM - I think they develop 'online' and 'digital' resources to schools to teach their student with.

Still - as a shirt sponsor - looks a little odd IMO.

MahonyI dont think futureschool.com.au are the shirt sponsor of the CCM anymore.

Was on their website the other day, and they had a photo of their new signing holding a shirt with Mingara emblazoned across the front.

"Sponsoring Sydney FC was a good decision for GraysOnline as it’s a natural fit with our business"

And please, don't smother the shirt, back, front, arms and armpits with logos.

Both these deals are for ground signage and club communications, their logos won't be on the shirt.

Heard of a little company called American Express?

Rumours swirl of another much bigger sponsorship deal, involving a multi-national company involved in telecommunications. As far as I know, nothing is signed but many are confident.

Tell ya what fellas. They're queuing up to be a part of the A-League.

It was just a statement.

I wish Scum all the best as they try to figure out what sound financial management is.

Anyway, I voted for your banner, where's the kudos.
