John KosminaAdelaide United coach John Kosmina will be Graham Arnold's assistant for the upcoming Asian Cup qualifier against Kuwait on August 16.

One of Australia's most decorated players, Kosmina, who played 102 matches in the green and gold, will work with Arnold in the clash in Sydney and at next week's training camp in Melbourne.

"We are delighted that we are in a position to welcome John Kosmina on board with the national team in a coaching capacity," said FFA head of high performance John Boultbee.

"John did a terrific job in leading Adelaide United to the (minor) premiership in the Hyundai A-League and it is important that the FFA continues to develop quality Australian coaches."

"John will give vital support to Graham Arnold and the rest of the coaching staff at the training camp next week and the match against Kuwait in Sydney."

Under Kosmina, Adelaide topped the A-League ladder after the home and away rounds last year by seven points.

Definitely not convinced about this. Is that the best we can do? Kosmina is the arch-enemy of creative football we are heading for the defensive eighties.

Good, Arnold needs help in many ways. having said that Kosmina rates equally or higher on the scale of complete muppets.

You are not giving Kosmina the respect he deserves. He won the league and convincingly with an average team-he got the most out of the players he had and he used Valkanis, Qu, Rech and Veart to their maximum ability to create the best team in the league.
