I just had a look at the Knights website. It appears half time Adelaide are up 1-0 courtesy of a dubious penalty. What is suprising, is the article states that there is about 12,000 spectators!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God, that's bigger than most of their crowds last year.

The Knights lost 1-0. What a surprising scoreline when Adelaide is involved.

Oh i was going to say!! LOL yer thats really good for a pre-season game! I think Hindmarsh is the best stadium in the A-League, although i despise the team.

Official crowd 12,006. That is a bloody impressive crowd for a pre-season game... Especially a 'bonus' round.

yeah its good for them but makes us look piss poor 12000 still cant get over it. In our two games against NZ last year at OP we did not even get 12000 we got about 10000 both times i think.

Well, if we had results as good as theirs have been, I'll bet our crowd will be even better.

We had shyte results and yet out crowds are as good if not better than theirs.

I imagined Adelaide has football fever pretty bad at the moment -

as well the strong performance by their team nationally last year, they had the world cup, their coach has been selected to help with the socceroos
they had the women's tournament - and there must have been stuff in the local papers with all those foreign teams running around town, plus they got inundated with Chinese fans for the final

then they wre supposed to be getting the Lebanon game, and now what

so their papers must have been full of football news for months

I wonder if they had one of those junior players get in free thing like we did in Tas? That could have got the numbers up.

Actually there hasn't been that much, there was shit loads for the world cup but after we were knocked out it went back to AFL oh and the usual knocking of the game  . AU much to our annoyance does not get a lot of exposure in the papers. Even Kossies call up was pretty low key, but with the crows doing so well they dominate the news

The crowd for last nights game was very suprising, if you signed up for a membership before August 1 you got free entry.

Knights really were caught for the pen, Veart was left with so much space I think he may have even got into top gear. It looked like one from where I was and their keeper didn't complain (he was booked as well).

Having said that the Knights did look better than last year, but then that wouldn't be hard, could be another long year.

Disappointment for me was that we had so many out Qu, Rech, Petta, Burns, Geraldi all of which were attackers lol

Good (but not too much) luck today ;)

How many members have Adelaide got, Mr Bojangles? Anyone travelling over here for round one?

I reckon it's around 6000 again. They have changed the membership packages this year, last year it was very rigid.

I reckon a "Get Mobile" is being organised, usually Pickard puts up the cash so it costs bugger all for a return bus fair and ticket, not sure if it different this year.

Looking forward to seeing your new samaba boys play, shame that Sarkies the kid is class

Stop making stupid excuses, they got a great crowd, just accept it.

Theres not a chance in hell we would ever get 12K to a pre season match against NZ.

Yeah hats off to their crowd. Hopefully they can do even better during the season!

It's obvious that something like that happened.
Maybe they gave away a heap of tickets, too.

You're fooling yourself if you think 12 000 people would just turn up to a meaningless pre season match, when they averaged crowds of around 9000 in the season proper last season.

Fantastic attendance, very excited to see that given the crap attendance at the prelim last year

They close memberships on Aug 19 but from the looks of that crowd they dont have too much to worry about

It's dissapointing that even in the preseason Adelaide seem to be getting a goal up and shutting down the game's tempo from then on. i sense many more frustrating boring games from them this season.
Awesome crowd, I really hope their fans are enjoying it though.
