Hyundai A-League fans are set to catch their first glimpse of new Queensland Roar acquisition Simon Lynch in the Pre Season Cup clash with Melbourne Victory in Epping on Sunday.

The Scottish striker's debut with Queensland has been delayed due to a drawn out visa process, but coach Miron Bleiberg said that he is hopeful the red tape will be cleared before the weekend and revealed Josh McCloughan may also resume.

"If Simon is cleared, and the signs are good, then he will definitely play a part in the game and it will give us the opportunity to cut down the game time of some of the players who have played a full 90 minutes every week so far," Bleiberg said.

"McCloughan looks like he will be able to make a return also, so this week is looking a little more encouraging for us."

Lynch admitted that the restrictions to him appearing for the Roar - who he signed with over three weeks ago - have been difficult, but said it has helped him get his body in top shape for the season proper which begins at the end of August.

"Hopefully everything with the visa is sorted out now and I'll be able to play this week. It's been frustrating obviously, but at the same time it's given me a chance to take a back seat and see how things operate here in terms of match preparations," Lynch said.

"It's also given me a chance to build up some fitness in training so it's not been all bad and there have certainly been some positives."

German import Marcus Wedau has had his visa approved already but is not yet match fit after recovering from a hamstring injury. He is likely to be at Bleiberg's disposal for the final round of the Pre Season Cup against either Perth or New Zealand, as will be Brazilian striker Reinaldo who has recovered from a thigh ailment.

Meanhwile, Steve Fitzsimmons, who has been playing for the Roar in place of Reinaldo while he was recovering, will have his contract extended to cover for the loss of Socceroo Spase Dilevski who is out for six weeks after undergoing groin hernia surgery on Monday.

"We are getting closer to a full strength squad now which is very encouraging for us. If Simon (Lynch) and Dario (Vidosic) can play this week then we are only missing Marcus Wedau and Reinaldo who will both be back on board next week," an encouraged Blieberg said.

"Both will get 90 minutes in an in-house trial game next week and play in the last Pre-Season Cup game.

"If they can get through 60 or 70 minutes in the last Pre-Season Cup game then they will be ready for the first game of the season."
