I cant stand that stupid chant by the Glory fans when the opposition goal keeper is about to kick out.Its dumb and it shits me.I also cant stand constant blowing of horns at some of the games. The victory fans leave every one for dead.

I love it those boys from the sheds have been on the ball for a long time now. I remember back when i was younger and they flew over to watch perth wipe eastern pride off the map (please dont hold this against me we were all young once) and those boys were the only thing entertaining on the night.

pierrelittbarskisdaughter
September 12th, 2006, 10:08 PM
Nope. We've discussed re-introducing it.

It made an appearance last year but failed to gain legs, i think it was mainly due to the kids reluctance to engage in any songs without an "ole".

Works a treat in Perth don't you think?

EPL beats the shit out of any flare lighting atmosphere in Europe by a mile.If flares are your thing take them to Bob Jane where youll be welcomed with open arms but dont bring them to the A league. We saw what happened at the dome when a dickhead got hold of one and threw it into families.Any one who lights aflare on sunday should be condemed.

ok mate throwing flares is a normal thing to do at football is it.If thats what you want thats fine but it will be weeded out by Frank Lowy make no mistake about it.He hated every thing about the nsl and will not tolerate going back to dark days.

Yes what this man said, bring them to the vpl grand final all flares are welcome, just dont throw them!...as for the atmopshere part... need to watch some champions league games not involving English teams Matey, sick of this "well it doesnt happen in the epl then it shouldnt here" crap.

He owned Sydney City and was an important figure in the early nsl days, he actually likes the old clubs, the man your talking about is John O'Neill. Highly unlikely that it will be weeded out, do A league clubs get fined for flares?....anyhow you dont seem to have much of a clue, and screw your dark days comment as well.

Your carrying on over 1 flare, yes it was stupid but its over with, for every d1khead that does that your just as likely to get many more who actually light them and hold them in a safe manner, a flare wont ruin the league get a grip!

People like me? i've never touched a flare in my life, but im guessing that the hundreds of greeks, Italians etc that attend the Victory at some point have at least seen one many times, not everyone in attendance is some undercover redneck afl reporter! i agree when used dangerously its bad but cmon who doesnt love to see a flare, especially when theirs a big crowd/match taking place.

If Thompson scores a ripper in injury time for the win......i'd love to see one make an appearance, oh but i forgot this does not occur in the epl...sh1t lets never see that happen again.

Because its the most popular league in the world

And that is because of the lack-of-flares?

and shows everybody that it doesnt need flares to have the best atmosphere at their games of any league that ive seen.

'Best atmosphere'?

In recent times several people are talking about how rubbish the EPL atmosphere is these days.

Try watching football from other countries (Spain, France, Italy, South America, Greece,Turkish, Russian etc.) and get a more holistic view of the football world.

We don't have to base the A-League on Britsh football 100%. Its 2006 FFS. We should take the best points from all football leagues and try and have them here.

Flares are cool. :)

Flares are for very boring people who have no interest in how the A league progresses in the future.

*sigh*

Rubbish.
