I especially love this: "we played crap today we need to sign some cheap south american players to add some spark. come on sydney"
Haha I distinctly remember those morons going on about how the Brazilians won't be able to hack the physical side of things, overated blah blah...
It's a great time to be a Melbourne fan! :D

They still have some way to go to match the awefull way we treated the likes of Allsopp and Merrick last season and still hear some idiots give Allsopp a blast even now. I guess foolish habits die hard.

fuck em, we are 7 points clear of them after four rounds.
that is the type of stuff a serious shot at winning the league can be built on.
that isnt getting a head of ourselves either, we are in the box seat now.
with sydney on 5 points and adeliade on 6 we are 7 & 6 points clear from them.
a massive game against Roar. We beat Perth and play Roar at home - another sell out crowd, hopefully have Bredner & Fred back, a fully fit side and play a team sitting 2nd with the chance of going 5 points clear of second place.
a better start to the season you could not wish for
we have the foundations of a a really successful year already in place

Nail on the head. This is fantastic stuff, I think the bakeries are fresh out of humble pie for all those idiots calling for Merrick's head after the pre-season, my god how our season would've been fucked if that had of happened.

I don't get why they create so many threads, when they could easily create one that encompases all those threads:
"Why we should be more like Melbourne" :D

Melbourne have recruited the Brazilians well. And are seeing the fruits of their labour. Yes, it appears they have caught us on the hop.
Exactly.

I distinctly remember Sydney fans having a go at the 'computer programmers from Brazil' that we recruited.
Now that they're playing such boring, uncreative football they want what we've got. What a laugh!

I seem to recall some even more racist terms being used about The Samba Boys.
A-Leage rivalry aside - the comments on the SYD forum about people from 2nd and 3rd world countries were awful - truly awful.

I can't wait until they try to sign Vinny Jones. 'A proven player at international level; we think he'll slot right into this side perfectly.'
oh, idea for a chant next time we play them:
'Why don't you sign Barry Hall? doo dah, doo dah'
