I think it is a loss when such things are arranged for Socceroos matches that are inappropriate to take kids to, ESPECIALLY seeing very very few Socceroos matches will be shown free to air once the Foxtell deal kicks in.
Nice to see GGArmy encouraging the younger supporters of the Socceroos.

Hi Daydream!!!,
Just responding to your above post, kids are welcome at the breakfast function. Yes, it is a licenced venue but the breakfast is in the resturant part of the venue.
Kids are allowed into licenced venues(resturents) if they are SUPERVISED by an adult, so it shouldn't be a problem.
If my memory serves me i'm pretty sure you watched one of the Asian Cup games from the Turf bar and had your kid with you.
So i'm not sure what your going on about above!!!!!
We try to cater for all our members!
Hope this clears some things up
Cheers

Thank you Kramer, I appreciate your response.
Yes me and the kid were at the Socceroos vs Kuwait at the turf bar, left with a football and a massive Bresciano cut out thingy, had a great night.
Also sat away from the GGarmy group as we were not allowed to be in the area that everyone gathered in.
What I have issues with is the environment that is created that I can't allow my kid to be exposed to, specifically sexist, demeaning chants, that looks like will be promoted on Wednesday morning. I know that those who sing them do so in a mindset that interprets them as hilarious, but a kid doesn't have the maturity to understand what it's all about, so I don't want to envelop him in it, as a normal way to celebrate football.
I was also responding directly to Daims, who is a member of the GGArmy, and seemed to indicate, as I interpreted it, that it was no great loss that me and my kid deemed it inappropriate to attend.
Tis a shame cos he and I would LOVE to come down and have breakfast and catch up with everyone. Especially the kid, cos he'd get to have bacon (poor kid, meater being raise in a vego house, whenever he gets meet he thinks he's in heaven).
I might reassess my thoughts on it Tuesday night.

That's kind of you to say, the more I think about it, the more I think we might be able to come down so long as we sit well away from the big groups....
We both LOVE to watch the game with others, plus school and work are both very close to the city. win win win situation.

I dont think you'll have too many problems with language or bad behaviour at 7am on a Wednesay morning.. rightly or wrongly tends to be proportional to amount of alcholol consumed ..
And I agree we should lose the sexist chants altogether .. if your referring to the Posh Spice one - yes its crude and has bad language and definately not for kids ears .. but sexist ? I dont think so, it's done in gest and involves poking fun at individuals not a group or sex .. and often gets a lot of laughs .. we can switch it to a female-friendly version if you like !?
The ones I've never felt comfortable singing are 'Melbourne is so wonderful .. ' , 'xxxx out for the lads' etc... I dont like them because they definately *are* sexist and give our supporters a poor image .. and doesnt encourage more female attendance which football games sadly lack..
But you rarely hear those sung at GGArmy gatherings anyway its definately more of the club game crowd chant ..
So if it means anything I dont think you'll have a problem .. hope you and your kid can come and have a great time !
:)

I agree with absolutely everything you've said.
And no I don't want a female friendly version of the Posh Spice chant, thansk for offering but, very sweet of ya!
Here's a dirty little secret I have, I've read both Posh Spice's AND David Beckhams autobiographies, and her views on that chant. Has changed my view on it somewhat, even though she is a mega famous mega rich mega fortunate woman, I still have empathy for others who are hurt by stuff, but I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill, agree, it's basically crude, dumb and juvenile.
When I say sexist I was referring to the other chant that I'm renowned for hating.....and i've seen the "tits out" chant used in a not very nice way....
Thanks Vicnut, appreciate it.

or maybe your at uni??
its the best thing youll ever do...must do it while your young...
its weird for me cos i usually get really homesick....but in London you just feeel like your at home anyway with all the aussies... so ive loved it...and its so close to anywhere...you can fly to ireland and back for 50 bucks....then spend like 20 a night on a hostel...the pounds pretty cool to travel on.
my one regret is not sorting out a well paying job...i have a very good job..ive been promoted twice now in three months...im now a duty manager at the hotel...would be sitting on close to 40k back home with the type of hotel im in..but its the industry i will eventually spend my whole lief in so the experience is priceless
just hospitality in Uk is seriously minimum wage...no jokes....and the cost of living in london is insane...but you work around it....
and the London GGARMY crew are unbelievable.....cant wait to get on the piss with em tonight (and maybe watch the match:)
so talk your boy into it and get him over as well....me you him and daims on the piss here next year...London wouldnt know what hit em!!

id love to mate btu im in a pretty good job myself now... and jay is too really
finallyg to my dream job and ye ye its the afl what do they know but i absoltely love it and the pays not so bad... wel see how i feel after my pay review in a month lol
im at the time (even though daims wotn agree) that i want to buy a house and settle and save n ... prepare for the unexpected wedding!! loll
if i wasnt with jay i think id do it, but i think that because we are together id prefer to spend the time away with him. rather than on the piss every night n not knowing whats around the corner, if u knwo what i mean
id love to go away for a few weeks but not a few months, thats going too far. but like i said realistically, i would give all of that up for a house. so thats what im aiming for
daims, can u stop currupting jay please!!! lol
pete... yes i was in a very firy mood last night / today!!!
