I read with interest one of the questions raised to Tony Ising regarding the FFA organising an international FRIENDLY versus Ireland to repair the damage caused by the international mixed rules game.

What does everyone think? Tony said we could consider contacting the FFA about this idea

Sounds like a great idea, and would be an awesome game between our boys and the Irish.

Would it be rubbing salt into the wound if it were played at the MCG?

Nope, let the AFL dig themselves out of this mess. No goodwill bullshit present from the FFA.

Nah it would be something like "Don't worry about our rude, arrogant AFL players. We are the real gentleman!" lol

i reckon it might make the afl look so bad, just in the way football players go about it, you often see opposition players helping each other up when they fall over and stuff.

'And we play a real game.'

That was my thought exactly.

Why let relations (even if it is only on a sporting level) with another country sink?

If AFL can wreck the relationship, I think its great PR to repair the relationship through the correct Football code.

But would also be good to see MVFC play some other clubs too.
Although, how good is Irish club football?

It's best that we not go there..

Some of their fans are nuts! Shelbourne especially. But, like the gaelic sports- football in Ireland is amateur. I think all of the teams are part timers.
