Jeonbuk Motors crowned AFC Champions League champions
9 November 2006
HOMS, Syria: Jeonbuk Motors became the first side from Korea Republic to win the AFC Champions League title after a last-gasp goal from Ze Carlo lifted them to a 3-2 aggregate victory over Al Karameh of Syria here at the Khaled bin Al Waled Stadium on Wednesday.
After losing the first leg of the Final 2-0 in Jeonju last week, Al Karameh looked on course for a miraculous comeback today when Mohamad Al Hamwi (54) and Mohanad Ibrahim (61) leveled the aggregate score but striker Ze Carlo headed in the winner in the 89th minute to end the Syrian team's fairytale run in this edition.
Yeom Ki-hun (59) and Brazilian Raphael Botti (90+1) were on the mark for Jeonbuk in the first leg though the latter was dropped by coach Choi Kang-hee for today’s crucial game in favour of fellow Brazilian Ze Carlo who fully repaid the trust put in him.

Biggest crowd attendance I've seen on the site, is 55,000 as in the following paragraph.
Capacity crowds of 55,000 passionate fans inspired the Uzbek league and cup holders to impressive wins over Iranian champions Pirouzi, Nisa of Turkmenistan and Iraq's own double champions Al Talaba in Group D as Pakhtakor reached the semi-finals of an AFC competition for the first time.
Wonder if MV will get to meet Borat ;)

It will be decided later this month.
The AFC are saying that because our champions wont be decided by the time the ACL draw is made, that last seasons minor premiers (adelaide) and champions (sydney) will be entered into the ACL for next season.

Some of the arabic clubs are really good and would do us in i recon, the difference in wages is just too much. i could definately see an aussie club do well in the future though.
and all this complaining about us maybe not getting in, well sydney won the league last year and haven't got in yet, so who cares if me miss out one year, once they get it right everything will be sweet.
