Well it looks like the A-league has dropped off the pace a bit in terms of Media coverage. I assume it doesn't take into account the appointment of Ben Buckley, and i'm sure that will feature in next weeks media monitors poll quite highly.

Here is the top 5 most talked about sports of the week:
1) Melbourne Cup
2) ICC Champs Trophy
3) The Ashes
4) Tri-Nations rugby league
5) International rules

I'm suprised the international rules didn't poll better considering the amount of ridiculous coverage fevola/the brawl got on the radio and in the pappers.

Internatonal Rules.... Without a doubt the most stupidest game ever. Melbourne Cup is one of the events of the year so understanably thats at number 1. The Ashes coming up is labelled as the most anticipated of all time...so again it's normal to get the media coverage. But the rest, fuck em!

It relates to the sport in general, it's not team specific, hence Melbourne's performances on and off the field don't really have a significant enough effect on A-league's media coverage, unfortunately.

Really the only thing on there we should be getting more coverage of is the IR and it only got monetions for the brawls. Ashes, international rugby league and the melb cup are al very popular!
