Not being an avid follower of the old NSL, I assumed that Perth Glory used to be the biggest club in the Country. I may have been wrong with that Assumption. However whats happened to their support, afaik, they were not affiliated to any ethnic group, so their noses shouldn't have been put of joint in that area. I've asked people that I know follow the NSL, and the best reason they could come up with was Games schedules, and beer prices.

So why has Perth Glorys support gone awol ?

I think it's vital that as many clubs get as big a support as possible, so as to ensure the future of this A league, and from where I sit, PG is the biggest disappointment of them all.

Anyone know whats going on over there ?

FFA took over there club and pretty much want to discard there history before the A-league.

I guess I wouldn't know as I'm not a PG supporter, But why wasn't that just seen as promotion to another division ?

they have gone through a rought period of late. They were operating pretty well (not sure if at a loss but i presume so) and had good crowds, finishing the nsl with 2 championships on the trot. The a-league came, i guess more competition hurts crowds, they have gone from being the biggest and best club continously making finals, to a relatively unsuccessful a-league club (in terms of short history). Apparently a lot of fans feel disjected at the FFA, its control over the team etc aswell.
