I personally think Sheva should won it. I was surprised by the number of votes Roberto Ayala got. I know he is a good player but a few countries gave him as their World Player of the Year

Bullshit, Ronaldinho all te way , he deserved it, a real class player.
You just dont like him because hes black LOL
Kieran

Yeah. Ronaldinho is a class player and i dont like him. Not cause he is black.....cause he chose Barca over Man Utd. Sheva was much more deserving in my opinion. He has an extraordinary goalscoring record over the past year

Yer Sheva for me too im a huge huge fan of his. His Ukrainian like me too.
You know Chelsea offered him 60mil in Euros and AC Milan rejected it straight away, thats gotta tell you how vital he is.

I wish Sheva would find his way over to Old Trafford one day. But thats a dream that won't likely happen:( How much is 60mil Euros in British pounds? I'm lookin forward to when we duel with him at Old Trafford and the San Siro:D

Why not Henry....his contribution for Arsenal's unbeaten EPL run was unbelievable.
Still not knocking Dinho or Shevy....they are outstanding players who had outstanding seasons
Kieran
December 22nd, 2004, 07:55 PM
Because he isn't a big game player yet. He had an outstanding season against Leeds, Wolves and Leicester whilst the others had outstanding seasons in Europe and domestically. If Henry half repeats his domestic form and performs well in Europe, consider him a shoo in for next years award

I think Shevchenko should have won, he has been great for both club and country.

I think Dinho fully deserves it, he won by over 100 points and I wouldn't be surprised if he won it next year...and the year after :) go Barca!

Although i quite despise Henry, i have to agree with kevin kyle. without him, there is no way arsenal could hold an unbeaten run like that, even with their "superstar" player reyes.

I reckon Aurelio Vidmar should've won the award, he is such a class player, have you seen the way he does tricks, ufff !!!

What about Paul Okon ? He finally got his bench warming career back on track at a league worse then the NSL ever was. But as long as you're playing in "europe"

Another very nice goal by Henry tonight. Although it was against Fulham, but Van Der Sar can keep fairly well.
Can anyone think of a Dutch keeper who was better than Van Der Sar?
Even from the 70's when they went sick?

That was probably passed on by his parents. However, it's what you do with life that defines yourself. The boy is a Red, through and through.

Jony, don't be biased now. If you seriously think that, other than Ronnie, those other four are better players than Gerrard, you're deluded. :)

Top 10 I think, although it's always hard to say and people have their biased opinions/preferences of style.
I don't think he was better than Cruyff and Friedenreich, not Pelé, should probably be seen as the world's greatest player ever.
