West Brom seal Almeyda transfer
Soccernet
West Bromwich Albion manager Bryan Robson has made Argentine midfielder Matias Almeyda his first signing, according to reports.
The 31-year-old joins the Baggies on a free from Serie A club Brescia, where his contract was cancelled by mutual consent after a falling out with the club.
Almeyda began his career with River Plate before moving to Spanish side Sevilla and then joining Italians Lazio, where he won the double in 2000.
Robson is keen to reshape the West Brom squad and Almeyda could be the first of many new signings during the January transfer window.
Other names being linked with a move to the Hawthorns are Boro's Joseph-Desire-Job, Liverpool striker Neil Mellor and Celtic's Juninho.

Fairly good signing for the Baggies. It seems the 3 promoted clubs have each been able to attract past quality players from Serie A (Nicola Ventola -Crystal Palace (Inter), Thomas Helveg - Norwich (Milan) ) Definitely good for the quality of the EPL. I doubt he will be able to save them from relegation though
