Henry couldnt captain, he would play sh.it, because he cant play under pressure, so i'ld say Dennis Bergkamp.

Henry or Sol Campbell.
Wont be Sol. He is being used as a bargaining tool so we can get Jenas from Newcastle.

You believe that will happen?
Arsenal have already got enough promising AM's they don't need to be left with a Toure-Senderos pairing at the back with Cygan deputising!

I think Pires would do a good job for some reason.

Good point. After all we really need a DM not a AM.

Thierry will captain, if Dennis had more years left in him it would have been him without a doubt

I would think Sol Campbell, but I don't know if that would go down well with some Arsenal supporters given that he played for Spurs for a number of years.

Thierry Henry will replace Patrick Vieira as Arsenal captain following his France teammate's transfer to Juventus.
Asked on Saturday if striker Henry would be given the captain's armband for the new season which starts next month, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger told Sky Sports News: "Yes, that's my intention".

Would give Gooner fans extra chance to be smug at the North London Derby's, if he did get it it would **** us off more than anyone even though we have better defender these days anyway in King.
Still runs deep in some of us though.

Is this the decline of the Arsenal?

Not a good idea to make strikers your captain.
Is this the decline of the Arsenal?
I think so, yes.

The Gunners beat North London neighbours Barnet 4-1 at Underhill.
Alexander Hleb made his Arsenal bow and he marked it with a goal just two minutes in as he cut inside the box and fired home.
Thierry Henry - donning the armband following Patrick Vieira's departure - slotted home a penalty, before Dennis Bergkamp and Justin Hoyte fired home.

Thierry Henry is the player that is the most inspirational, but i don't always subscribe to the idea of strikers being captains, however if any striker in the world was going to be captain, Thierry would get my vote.
Sol Campbell would be a suitable choice as well, with captain experience (at Spurs) and vast playing experience, if fit, a suitable captain Sol would make.
And I know i will possibly be crucified for this but, LEDLEY KING WILL NEVER BE BETTER THAN SOL CAMPBELL. Sol Campbell keeps John Terry out of the England team when fit. Ledley King will not be better.

Id give it to Pires
Flamboyant Midfielders seem to make better captains than strikers
