There is some quality names being thrown around here.
Gazza is far from being stable, but he was a brilliant player at times and if he can transform that into managing, there is potential.
Newcastle are in a very good position.
Platt from what I know is a good manager and is quite ambitious, he was aiming for the English national team job at one stage, although that won't happen now. These candidates are very experienced.
Any thoughts?

If they get Gazza (or is that "G8"), they will be a laughing stock. Have you read what he's been up to in the last couple of years??

Ian Portfield and David Pleat have also been mentioned as possible candidate for the Newcastle Utd Jets. I think these two are pretty good candidates and David Platt would be OK, but Gazza would just be a crazy choice.

Yeah but he would pull the crowds...
If he isnt drunk and stoned off his head.
If i were Newcastle I would give Platt the nod, but it looks like they are still holding on to the idea of Venables.

The last 3 clubs 'G8' has been to he has walked off on them in a matter of months, he is certainly unstable.

Venables can now see first hand the A-League.
I'm not sure if he will want to stay though, he could get a better job in Europe somewhere couldn't he.
