Did anyone read this??

It doesn't really say who's idea it was, but some Aussie players and staff are apparently in favour of playing the 'home' leg of the playoff in London!
We may have a good record there, but that would just be criminal in my opinion.

The article also says that we have Sepp Blatter's word that the home leg would be played second, so that just about guarantees that it won't happen that way! ;)

Well said Penguin VIC! This would be absolutely criminal! Currently it's bad enough we don't see the full strength National Team play enough in Australia, but for some people to even suggest what would be robbing the Australian fans the opportunity to see the team play in such an important game, is just not on!

totally agree with your view there. glad the ffa threw that idea out the window, but it should NEVER have been suggested in the first place. if they really want the game to move ahead here the national team should play as often as they can on our shores.

I can't believe they would consider playing the most important match in Australia's footballing history in London!!! What a joke!!!

Is it really too much too ask to come back just once every four years!?

They're selling tickets, but in the ad I saw in the Courier Mail on Wednesday or Thursday of last week, you can only get tickets for our leg if....

(a) You play football
(b) You have a kid that plays football
(c) You buy a ticket to the Solomon's game
(d) You suck up to a corporate heavy in Sydney and get into a corporate box or VIP Section!

We will be playing alot of matches when we join Asia, there is no chance that our european players will come to australia to play 15 games in a year. Our home games should be played in London, and maybe play 2 or 3 game in Australia against teams such as Japan, Iran,Arabia etc..

Well mookey... if you fall into a and b, you shouldn't have a problem.

It's about time the real football fans were rewarded for supporting the sport they love!

Dont agree with the game being played in Sydney. The MCG is a house of intimidation in my mnd, and the fans are much more better in Melbourne. I guess you can argue we havent got a suitable football stadium in Melbourne, but I still think the MCG is the place to play.

wRsTmLtiEVA you don't have to play football to qualify...

If you are a committee memeber or a genuine volunteer at a club, you are eligible.

So the question is, are you?

As much as it sounds fair, there is always the issue of the people who love football, but dont involve themselves. Just because they dont involve themselves, doesnt mean they shouldn't be allowed to get tickets to the game.

I think its a **** process if you ask me, but its not as if Im going to travel to the ****-hole Sydney is to see them play when I can watch them on my perfectly good TV.
