i doubt there will be due to the fact its costing MV money to play in the champions league...

It's only for second tier Asian Leagues. Kind of like the UEFA Cup, but instead of being for second tier teams from every league, it's for the top clubs from second tier leagues. The A-League is regarded by the AFC as the best league in the confederation (in terms of organisation, how it's run, etc, not quality of clubs) behind the J. League, so there's no way any A-League club would have anything to do with the AFC Cup.

Its a development comp... for less developed football nations.... to get the experience... but it would be good to see the winners making it through to the ACL proper the year after

Would there be a possibility that VPL/NSWPL teams could get a go?

A bit of a stretch for it to happen but i think if the FFA did some thinking it could be viable.
