Can't follow these leagues unfortunately. It's hard enough that so many of the clubs are called Al Borland or something of the like.

well Al ittihad is playing Al Ittihad tonight in the ACL, bizarre isn't it. One is from KSA and the other is from Syria.

i just keep hearing how brilliant the iranian league is in particular, and of course it'd be good to know something about potential opposition in the second round (*if* we make it ;)

Stumbled across interesting (but not new ) article on Sepahan (Iran)
He began by reminding how the club operates as a multi-sports institute and how in many different sports , in men and women sports, they are Iran’s champions. Mr. Saket talked about how extensive Sepahan’s infrastructure is and how the system operates.
The club has seventeen different age group teams practicing and playing under licensed coaches. With a sister partnership arrangement with Italy’s Inter Milan, coaches and players receive annual training by the Italians. While most Iranian clubs suffer from a large turnover of players season to season, insufficient budgetsand unprofessional training facilities, Sepahan is the proud owner of a fully equipped new training facility, consistency in players’ tenure and a management team with a solid road map.

Cannot stand Beitar at all. Their supporters are all fucking arssim who go to the kenyon after matches looking for fights with little kids. Anyway shithouse team, embarrassment to Israeli Football (not really they have won many titles but i cannot stand them).
Maccabi Haifa all the way!

I see Beitar yellow and it makes me want to throw up. Fascist cunts the lot of them.
Hapoel Jerusalem from way way back (YMCA days), they morphed into hapoel katamon this days I believe.

A nice club owned by fans reflecting the most beautiful and cosmopolitan area of Jerusalem. Hapoel Yerushalayim still exists in the 3rd tier, but Hapoel Katamon was started by some Yeru fans who didn't like how their club was being managed.
