Mods It might be better if this was a thread simply about the rest of the matches in our group so change it if you like that idea

Qatar win really imo. It will put MASSIVE pressure on the Iraqis who have to come here next in June when we have our best squad available.

I reckon nil all would be better personally the problem is I don't know two much about either side therefore don't want either of them getting any success Iraq seem threatening to me after Asia cup but I'd like to hear a bit more about how there coach firing business affects their football playing ability

A draw wouldnt be bad, Qatar win equally as good. Either way we would be 2-3 points up on our main threats for a top 2 spot, and we play them both at home still.

I dont think squad wise we should be worrying about any of the teams. Might sound cocky, and they did spank us at the Asian Cup, but I dont think any repeats of that day will be occurring. If they draw, it will be
Australia 4
Iraq 2
China 2
Qatar 1
If Qatar win
Australia 4
Qatar 3
China 2
Iraq 1
If Iraq win
Australia 4
Iraq 4
China 2
Qatar 0
Personally, Id much rather take a Qatar win - as they are the "easiest" of the lot. We have to play them away, but Im quietly confident a full strength side will take care of these guys in the desert.
A draw will work well too, but if Iraq can stay on 1 point after 2 games, and then have to come and play us here - they'll know they're in a world of trouble.
It will virtually guarantee us qualification for the next group stage I think.
But we'll see I guess, they will more than likely win being favourites, and playing a less than sound Qatar side who showed a lot of weaknesses in Melbourne.

Qatar not that bad after all.Maybe not as shit as we thought.I think we underestimate our own ability. So far no home team has lost yet.

Qatar were depleted when they came to Aus. There 1st side is decent, but obviously no depth. That 3 goal win we got looks more and more important in this tight group...
3 points at home in the next game against Iraq won't be easy, but if we get them we will be pretty well qualified for the next round

That was a bit of an upset.

You've gotta remember that Qatar's tactics against us played right into our hands. The way they sat extremely deep allowed us to put in crosses under no pressure for Kennedy to jump at. No surprise all our goals came from wide areas. In the second half when they actually played they looked good. We didn't create much and they had 1 or 2 good chances. They'll be tough away from home if they get their tactics right.

Massive upset, but it reflects how tough and competitve this group was always gonna be. Probably a good result for us, considering Iraq is probably the side we're gonna find the most difficult to beat.

I think Iraq were without Akram and the other guy. Lets hope they are still shakey come June.
