It was heidelberg's home match and we just about bought over 4,000 of that crowd! for the away side you cant ask for much more then that.

So i couldnt give a toss because they failed to promote the game and got crap all at the gate considering the weathre and the potential, all they got was a 85% pro south crowd going wild with a couple of injury time strikes, doesnt get any better then that!

Who needs a league when you can beat up on poor heidelberg like that! i shall sleep well tonight and revenge is sweet for those bastards knocking us out last year.
Big deal, it's not too far from Lalor for most of your supporters. I'm just glad I stopped 10 people from coming there today....It was great to see so many kids at Frankston today wearing Victory merchandise, if you're their parents be careful when you play SM, as the kids may be attacked if they are wearing such things!

Seriously, stuff all Bergers fans there, South fans in fine voice, and when finally we scored everyone going nuts, was fantastic. And then Baser with that lovely lob goal, and everyone going nuts again. As it entered injury time, and we missed that goal from right in front, i thought it just wouldn't be our day, but how sweet it is to score not one, but two in injury time to bury those bastards in their own ground!

I appreciate that you have issues with some people, but what's the point in being alarmist? Doesn't the eggball media describe wogball as a place where you can't take the kids? You're just reinforcing those attitudes.

When the bagging of Victory stops, then so will I.....some, & I repeat some SM fans just can't let it go & admit that the A-League & Victory has done wonders for Football in Oz. They were even happy about the violence last night FFS. They are self-serving ******s who never want Football to be the winner, only Hellas, trust me mate I know these guys far better than anyone on here.

I find many aspects of the league absolutely cringeworthy but agree, in principle, with its existence so I continue to support it.

I can also understand other South fans not having such a permissive attitude.

Probably the one good thing about Olympic Village (apart from the gyros) is the fact that you can run down the hill from the western 'stand' without impediment towards the fence and go mental. Best fun i've had in ages.

I think hardly any of their players that helped them get to VPL are with them anymore. They certainly have the talent to take the title, but any number of teams could win it, and maybe discipline and fitness will be worth more in an even season than how many overpaid prima donnas you have. I think Kingston will finish probably 5-6th.

February 5th, 2006, 11:29 PM
Kevin_Kyle: Kingston will either do really well, top 3 and really hammer some teams, or they will fall apart with infighting and finished very low down, if not get relagated. I believe it will be the later, especially with vetern goal keeper Jimmy Kourits leaving the club just before the start of seaon. Only reason i can think of why he left a club where he was first choice only a week from seaon start is due to inflighting with all the 'superstars' down at the Grange.

In all honesty, that was a pathetic turn out by the Berger fans, if they're not going to turn out for round 1, on a beautiful day, against the old enemy, should just wind up the whole operation right now. Let's hope at least some of the muzzas and their maria companions turn up a bit more frequently this year, minus the copious amounts of hair product of course. But for the moment, who cares, i'm still tripping over that win yesterday, that was truly something else.

my advice would be to try whoevers ground is closest to you. this weeks games are,
Fri- 8:15 Oakleigh v. h**d*lb*rg,
8:30 Richmond v. Frankston Pines.
Sat- 7:30 Altona Magic v. Kingston City,
Sun- 6:00 Knights v. Essendon,
6:00 Sunshine v. Preston,
6:15 South Melb v. Fawkner-Whittlesea,
Mon- 8:15 Bulleen v. Green Gully.

not sure how much a student ticket is? $5 perhaps? as for crowds, unfortunately at this level any club that can pull in over 4,000 on a consistent level is doing great (which is rare unless it's considered a "traditional" derby). it's just the nature of the lower leagues.

having said that, if you don't fancy the VPL, you can always wait for the State League seasons to start. you may find a club a lot closer to home. full marks to you if you go along to support "grassroots" football. ;)

SUN 6:00pm Sunshine v. Preston

this match will have a decent crowd, as does any Preston match, Preston's crowd originates mostly from the north and west, and considering Sunshine have a notbad following compared to some others, should be a decently full Chaplin Reserve

student entry per week is $7, if your talking about a season ticket, it depends on the club that you want to follow

choosing a team can be because a number of factors, you may like the number of crowds a club get, or its colours, or emblem, or its location, or its history

if your knowledge about VPL clubs is weak, then the next best thing is to visit their website, a list can be found on the following site:

ROUND 2 PREVIEW
Tuesday, 07 February 2006

With lady luck deserting Sunshine George Cross in the Round 1 clash against big spending newcomers Kingston City, the Georgies will be hoping for better fortunes this weekend against the Preston Lions at Chaplin Reserve in Round 2 of the Vodafone Cup. Both teams will be desperate to open their 2006 accounts after losing their opening games. Kingston had to rely on a first half penalty to defeat a valiant George Cross outfit who played the last 60 minutes of the game with ten men after first gamer Ivan Filipovic was shown the red card, whilst Preston went down 1-3 to the Melbourne Knights at Connor Reserve.

A good sized crowd is expected as Preston always bring with them a large, vocal and colourful group of supporters, and if this clash contains as much action as last season's encounter at Chaplin Reserve which finished in a 2-2 draw, then the crowd will be in for an entertaining evening's play.

Many of the Georgie fans who trekked out to the Grange Reserve to witness the Kingston City game were impressed with the new members of the squad who battled all night in search of a result. This week Englishman Craig Platt will be able to make his debut for the club after finally being cleared to play by the Federation.

Youve got to me kidding me.

Do you honestly think people give a crap about the lake when the football is on?

I dont no where im playing yet. I just had my first training session last night with Watsonia (had an operation on my toe).

Thommo is a good club. Played juniors there, still have a soft spot, and watch them when i can. But i dont no how competitive they will be. From what ive heard, two new coaches, and basicalyl a whole new team has been brought in. How many people are down at training atm? Any class players?

Just letting everyone no....FFV have finally released Season Tickets. Cost: $200 - entry to EVERY match this season in all competitions, VPL, State 1 etc. NOT FINALS!

Great offer!!

50% goes to nominated club. If you are a neutral, just planning on watching alot of clubs - id reccomend you nominate your club as a poor club, like La Trobe (State 3), as they need all the financially help they can get.

not realli worth it unless you go to more than one match a week...i prefer to buy my tickets at the gate which ensures all the money goes straight to ur supported club

ps. would this get you in to the South/Preston, Preston/South and South/Knights games which may be deemed "members only" games?

giving away your age there son. :D not really Ady, as my family were so poor i never went to school. (f@cing child labour camp  ) me, i'm just a disgruntled 23 year old.

Yes, but if your a Fawkner fan, when you go to away matches like South this week - why would you want to give your money to them? At least this way $100 goes to YOUR club.

Agitator:I dont no. Last yr the FFV Passes got you into those matches, however last season they were given out to certain people and not able to be purchased. But id think that your allowed in with it (check with FFV) as the whole reason for having members only was so that if they start trouble their names can be found as they are members. Same thing applies one would think.

ady#1: If your planning on watching teams home games, this is definetly worth it. If your going to go to at least 20 games (26game season) than it works out even. Also, you can go watch your local state league games with it.

According to Tony Pignata:
FFV Pass will allow you to get into member only games, however for those games there will be signature checks undertaken. Also there is a limited supply of passes that are for sale.

Big news today was Ian Dobson resigning as coach of Green Gully for personal reasons. Oakleigh won tonight 1-0, with Damianos scoring against his old side Heidelberg.

YEAH ME AND REVOLUTION WENT TO THE PINES V RICHMOND GAME AND IT WAS BORING IN THE WAY OF FOOTBALL, UNTIL IT STARTED GETTING PHYSICAL, and the pines keeper got subbed cos of a knee injury. pines red carded and goaled. more dust ups even an all in in the pines net (apart from the richmond keeper)the reserve keeper was man of the match for mine as he hadnt played for 2 years apparently in first team goals.(what does that say about richmonds finishing. Or the depth and desire of frankston.

Too Funky In Here!!!
