Most Italians I've met in this country are completely oblivious to football, with the exception of a few who jump on the bandwagon every 2nd year when there's a major championship on, but couldn't name the captain if you asked. It's staggering how people who have their roots in such a football-obsessed country can largely be so indifferent to the game.
