Daniel Georgievski says players support fans desire to protest | Presented By Outside90

The Fans

Melbourne Victory star Daniel Georgievksi has publicly defended the club’s fans, despite confirmation of a ‘walk out’ protest by the it’s active support on Saturday night against Adelaide United.

The Victory’s biggest active support group, the North Terrace, in unison with rival support group the Red & Black Bloc (Western Sydney Wanderers), have decided to boycott the match ‘at any given minute’ on Saturday night in response to what they believe is largely inaction by the FFA following the Daily Telegraph’s controversial ‘football shame file’ piece.

In an extended interview with the Daily Football Show, Georgievksi said the players would support the fans and their motives behind the protest.

“If the fans really want to do that [boycott] then we have to support them like they support us,” he said.

“We do want them there but if they want to do that we’re behind them no matter what.”

“They support us week in, week out so if this is something they really want to do, then we’re all for them.”

The Melbourne Victory has had troubles with the North Terrace in the past, with the group boycotting for an extended period of the season a few years back, but on this occasion, it appears the fans are focusing their anger at the FFA.
